Nick Lawson is in his fourth season working as an assistant equipment manager for K-State, where he oversees all aspects of equipment and maintenance as well as Nike apparel inventory and distribution for the men’s basketball, women’s volleyball and women’s tennis teams.
 
A native of Omaha, Neb., Lawson has worked at K-State since starting as an undergraduate in 2011. He began his athletics career working with the Wildcat football team as a student equipment manager from 2011-14, assisting with the 2012 Cotton Bowl, 2013 Fiesta Bowl and 2013 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl. He spent two seasons as a student equipment with the baseball team from 2014-16 before becoming an equipment intern in 2019, overseeing the equipment and maintenance as well as Nike product for most of the school’s Olympic sports teams until 2021.
 
Lawson earned a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness in 2016. He received accreditation from the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) during the summer of 2021. He and his wife, Haley, and son Noah, reside in Manhattan.
