  • Was a semifinalist for the Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year.

  • Named to NCAA South Regional All-Tournament team after averaging 13.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in games against No. 18/20 Kentucky (3/22/18) and Loyola Chicago (3/24/18)… Hit the game-winning layup with 19 seconds left against Kentucky to seal the school’s first win in the series and its first trip to the Elite Eight since 2010.
  • One of three players to start in all 37 games… The 37 starts tied five others, including teammates Makol Mawien and Xavier Sneed, for the most in school history in a single season, while the 37 games played tied seven others for the most in a single season.

  • Barry Gerard Brown was born December 21, 1996 in St. Petersburg, Fla. … Parents are Barry Brown, Sr. and Tracia Richmond.
  • Father, Barry, Sr., played two seasons at Jacksonville (1992-94), where he was an honorable mention All-American by Basketball Times and Basketball Weekly as a senior after averaging a team-best 20.8 points per game… The team’s leading scorer each of his two seasons at Jacksonville, the elder Brown was also a two-time All-Sun Belt selection (1993, 1994) and a member of the 1994 Sun Belt All-Tournament team… Finished his career with 1,049 points, while career 19.1 points per game average ranks eighth in school history.
