Now in his 40th season in collegiate athletics administration and 23rd year at K-State, Casey Scott has been a member of the staff since 2002. A 1977 graduate of K-State from Wichita, Kan., he was promoted to Executive Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations and Event Management in 2017 and directs the Athletics Operations unit overseeing the game management and special event operations. In addition, Scott serves as the sport administrator for Men’s Basketball, Baseball and Men’s and Women’s Golf.
 
During his time at K-State, Scott has helped successfully direct multiple post-season NCAA and NIT events for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball and baseball, as well as three K-State football games at Arrowhead Stadium, the upcoming 2024 Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland, and three Big 12 Conference outdoor track and field championships. He also has been instrumental in the negotiation and staging of what has become an annual men’s basketball game in either the T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City or INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita.
 
On a national level, Scott currently is serving a four-year term through 2027 as the Big 12 representative on the NCAA Baseball Committee, which is responsible for selecting, seeding, and bracketing the 64-team championship field. From 2012-16, he was a member of the NCAA Baseball Rules Committee, including serving as chair in 2015-16, and in 2023 was appointed by the Big 12 as its representative to the Facility and Event Directors Focus Group for the expansion of the College Football Playoff. Scott was also instrumental in the planning of the renovation of Tointon Family Stadium, which was completed in 2020, and has assisted in the planning and construction of the West Stadium Center, Vanier Football Complex, Shamrock Zone and the south endzone redesign of Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Morgan Family Arena and Olympic Sports Training facilities.
 
Prior to K-State, Scott served as Associate AD for External Operations at Colorado State, where he oversaw the marketing, development, ticketing and special event operations. He began his athletics career in 1985 as Sports Information Director at Wichita State. During his more than 12 years at WSU, he served in roles as Assistant Athletics Director for External Operations, Facilities and Events, and Associate Athletics Director until leaving for CSU in 1998. Scott earned a B.S. in journalism and mass communication from K-State in 1977. After graduation he spent eight years as a general assignment and sports reporter for the Wichita Eagle-Beacon prior to joining the athletics staff at Wichita State. 
 
He and his wife, Christy, have a son, Brett, and a daughter, Shannon, and four grandchildren. Brett was a four-year letterman for the Wildcat baseball team, earning Academic All-America honors in 2008.
