Kelvin Gilkey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a nationally Certified Mental Performance Coach, with the Association of Applied Sports Psychology. He earned his master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in health Promotion and Wellness Management from Grand View University. In his work, Kelvin employs various clinical and performance techniques, emphasizing multiculturalism, strengths and values, and creative therapies to support diverse clients. His experience includes working with athletes, veterans, incarcerated youth, and international populations. As a student-athlete, Kelvin played football at Grand View University, contributing to the program’s first undefeated season and 2013 NAIA National Championship while earning All-American and all-conference honors. He later served as an assistant football coach at Grand View from 2020–2023, helping lead the team back to the national championship game in 2021. He was recently inducted into the Grand View Athletic Hall of Fame as part of the 2013 championship team.
