CAREER: Played in 61 career games – the third most in school history – as a valuable member of K-State’s four core special teams units and as a reserve wide receiver.
2023: Played in all 13 games, hauling in three passes for 38 yards and a touchdown, returning four kickoffs for 68 yards and making four special teams tackles as he earned votes for the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year award from the league’s coaches... Hauled in his first-career touchdown against Houston, which came in his 56th career game played... Also caught a 15-yard pass against NC State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, while he returned a punt for a touchdown that was nullified by penalty... Was stellar on special teams at Texas Tech, recording two tackles on kickoff coverage at the 14- and 17-yard lines, while he downed a punt at the 1-yard line... A First Team Academic All-Big 12 honoree... Voted a team captain.
2022: Played in all 14 games as a reserve wide receiver and as a core special teams player... Led the Wildcats with nine special teams tackles, including seven on kickoff coverage... PERSONAL: Seth Porter was born June 11, 1999, in Clear Lake, Texas... Son of Mark Porter and Amy Thompson, both of whom attended K-State... Father, Mark, was a kicker for the Wildcats from 1985 to 1988... Has four siblings, Seth, Brook Thompson, Kayson Shelton and Madison Shelton... Younger brother, Shane, is also a wide receiver for the Wildcats... Obtained his undergraduate degree from K-State in communication studies in May 2022 and his certificate in sports performance coaching in May 2023.
