Joni Smoller is entering her 18th year with K-State Athletics, including her first as Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Relations. In her current role, she is responsible for all marketing campaigns, fan experience initiatives, ticket sales efforts and attendance promotions for all 16 sports. She also oversees the marketing, fan experience, sales, ticketing teams as well as and the Cheer team.

Smoller has guided a Fan Experience and Sales department that developed initiatives that led to K-State’s streak of 39 consecutive sellouts in football, while posting national Top 25 attendance rankings in men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, volleyball and baseball. In 2013-14, the department’s Fan Experience and Sales staff was named the NACMA Marketing Team of the Year.

Smoller served as President of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) during the 2016-17 athletics season.

Smoller began her career at K-State in 2006 as assistant director of marketing and promotions before being named Director of Fan Experience in 2009. She was selected as Senior Director of Fan Experience in 2013 before being elevated to Assistant Athletics Director in 2015.

A native of Phillipsburg, Kansas, Smoller earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Kansas State in 2004 before adding her Master’s degree in College Student Personnel in 2006.
