Nina Schultz - Women’s Track & Field
Schultz, a sophomore from New Westminster, Canada, recorded the best pentathlon score (4,502 points) in the NCAA indoor season on Friday at the Texas Tech Shootout. It was also the seventh best score in NCAA history and second best in K-State history, just behind Akela Jones 4,643 point performance. She broke personal records in the high jump (1.82 meters), long jump (6.39 meters, third best in K-State history) and 800 meters (2:19.79). She was also a part of the 4x400 meter relay squad that placed third on Saturday with a time of 3:41.30.

Carolina Costamagna - Tennis
Costamagna, a senior from Cordoba, Argentina, finished the week 4-0 in two matches versus North Texas and Washington State. Costamagna beat UNT’s Sille Tranberg, 6-3, 6-2, on Friday and WSU’s Aneta Miksovska, 6-3, 6-4, on Sunday. She ups her record to 3-2 on the year in singles plays. In doubles play, Costamagna teamed with Margot Decker at No. 1 to win both matches this weekend, helping the Cats take the doubles point against Washington State. She failed to lose a set over these last two matches.
Cartier Diarra - Men’s Basketball
Diarra, a freshman from Florence, S.C., has averaged 11.2 points over the last month, where he has gotten all 10 of his starts on the season. During this span, he has upped his scoring average from 4.3 to 7.1. This past week he averaged 11 points and 5.5 rebounds an outing, leading the Cats to a win in Austin over the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday with 13 points. On Saturday, he grabbed seven rebounds to go along with nine points in a home loss versus Texas Tech. In conference play, he leads the Big 12 in three-point percentage (50.0%, 16-32).
Kayla Goth - Women’s Basketball
Goth, a junior from Deforest, Wis., lead the Wildcats in scoring and assists this past week. She averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game, with a career night Wednesday in a win versus Texas Tech. She ended up with 27 points that night (a season high), adding nine assists, six rebounds and three steals. In Austin on Saturday, she scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and recorded six assists in a loss to Texas. On the season, she is averaging 16.4 points and 6.6 assists per game, which leads the conference by over one per game.
Terrell Smith - Men’s Track & Field
Smith, a senior from Vicksburg, Miss., broke his own 200-meters school record this weekend, one he set two weeks ago during the Razorback Invitational. He won the event for the fourth time this season at the Texas Tech Shootout with a time of 20.86, four hundredths of a second better than his previous record. On Friday, he set a personal record in the 60-meters at 6.69, finishing third in the race. That puts him fourth in the conference this season and tied for third in K-State history.
