Jordan Wicks - Baseball
Wicks, a freshman from Conway, Ark., was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week after his five-hit shutout of No. 14 Texas over the weekend, the conference office announced Monday. Wicks turned in his first career shutout on Sunday, scattering five hits and striking out six to produce K-State's first shutout victory over Texas in program history. Four of Wicks' six punch outs came in the final two innings, including back-to-back strikeouts to end the ballgame. He retired 14 of the last 15 hitters he faced, including a stretch of 11 straight sat down. After winning 3 of 4 last week, the Cats will travel to Nebraska before hosting a series versus TCU next week.

Jacob Eklund - Men’s Golf
Eklund, a junior from Carbondale, Ill., finished in second place following Tuesday's final round of the Missouri Tiger Invitational held at the par-72, 7,221-yard Club at Old Hawthorne. Eklund, who led the leaderboard coming into play on Tuesday, carded an even-par 72 to finish at 13-under par 203. His second-place finish was his third in the top five, which leads the team this spring. Eklund's final score of 203 tied for the fifth-best 54-hole score in school history. As a team, the Cats finished second place out of 15 schools competing in the tournament. K-State will compete in the Hawkeye Intercollegiate in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday.
Brett Neelly - Men’s Track & Field
Neelly, a senior from Gallatin, Tenn., shattered a 34-year old K-State school record in the shot put at the Triton Invitational in San Diego, California, throwing 20.13m/66-00.50, which came on his final attempt. Neelly breaks the 1985 school record of 19.69m/64-07.50 set by Andrew Gillam, and now holds the indoor and outdoor men’s shot put records. Neelly’s throw placed him third overall, second collegian, in the event and places him seventh in the NCAA this season. Neelly is the only Wildcat to ever throw over 20 meters in the event, which he has done both indoors and outdoors. K-State will compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational starting Friday.
Ashley Petr - Women’s Track & Field
Petr, a junior from Hastings, Neb., kicked off the competition on Friday at the Triton Invitational in the women's hammer throw, leading the K-State hammer throwers by placing 12th overall. Petr recorded a throw of 55.41m/181-09 on her third and final attempt. In the women's discus competition, Petr picked up her second personal best of the day, launching a throw of 54.09m/177-05 on her third attempt, which stands as the sixth-best throw in K-State outdoor history Petr went on to place 10th overall in the discus invitational competition. K-State will compete in the Michael Johnson Invitational starting Friday.
Anna Turco - Tennis
Turco, a sophomore from Mondovi, Italy, pushed 96th-ranked Janet Koch of Kansas to a third-set tiebreaker before falling 6-2, 2-6, 11-9, at the No. 2 spot in K-State’s lineup. Turco saw her five-match winning streak come to an end as K-State dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 20 Kansas Saturday at the Jayhawk Tennis Center. Kansas picked up the doubles point as No. 3 Koch and Nina Khmelnitckaia defeated Turco and Margot Decker, 6-2, at the top doubles spot in the lineup. After finishing 2-7 in the Big 12 play, the Cats will face No. 10 West Virginia in the First Round of the Big 12 Championship in Lawrence, Kan., on Saturday.
Chloe Weir - Women’s Golf
Weir, a senior from Belfast, Northern Ireland, began her final conference championship on the right foot on Sunday as she carded an even-par 72 to conclude the first 18 holes tied for fourth place in the 2019 Big 12 Championship held at the par-72, 6,341-yard Golf Club of Oklahoma. Weir was 1-over par on the front nine but went 1-under par on the back thanks to birdies on Nos. 16 and 18. She is among a group of eight golfers who shot even par or better on Sunday, four of whom are ranked in the top 100 nationally according to Golfstat. The Big 12 Championship will conclude on Monday and Tuesday with the second and third rounds.
