The principle benefactors of Kansas State’s $3.1 million baseball stadium renovation project, Bob and Betty Tointon have supported K-State for many years.
After graduating from K-State in 1955, the couple moved to Greeley, Colo., but has continued to maintain strong ties to the university, while striving to advance the cause of higher education.
“We are supporting K-Sate because we feel good about the experiences we had there and because we feel good about what it is today.” said Bob Tointon.
In recognition for their generous contribution to the baseball project, the facility was changed to “Frank Meyers Field at Tointon Family Stadium.”
Mr. Tointon is the chief executive officer of Phelps-Tointon, Inc., while Mrs. Tointon is the president of Antiques at Lincoln Park.
In addition to their support of Wildcat athletics, the Tointons have been active supporters of Kansas State University for many years.
Members of the Presidents Club since 1980, the couple has also served as chairs for the Northern Colorado Presidents Club. The Tointons are currently KSU Foundation Trustees. Mrs. Tointon served on the Alumni Association’s board of directors from 1982-1985 and in 1987, Mr. Tointon received the Distinguished Service Award from the College of Engineering.
