Bob Snell became the Wildcats’ faculty athletic representative to the Big Eight and the NCAA in 1975 and served in that role for 25 years. He was a man of integrity who helped K-State plot a positive course for athletics.
He was the first chair of the Intercollegiate Athletic Council, the group that oversees the varsity programs at K-State. Snell was a 1954 graduate of Kansas State and became the head of the department of civil engineering in 1972.
