Â
The Wildcats (10-8, 2-8 Big 12) were held to a .129 hitting percentage, compiling 33 kills led by 11 from Addison Massey, the Big 12 Rookie of the Week. JASON MANSFIELD, K-STATE HEAD COACH
Overall statement…Â
"Disappointing start for sure. I loved our response in the second, and then towards the end of the third set. The environment today was great. I think it probably got to us a little bit to start with, and we weren't really on the scouting report the way we needed to be, and weren't really ourselves. But I think we made good adjustments and battled. [KU] is a good serving team that I felt like we did a much better job as the match went on of fighting off aces. But our serve and our offense just never quite got going. I mean, Reagan [Fox] got going at the very end there, but we just didn't put enough pressure on them. Didn't serve in enough and didn't hit it in enough. I mean, you give the other team 30 errors on attack errors and service errors in three sets, you're probably going to lose. And we're lucky that we got 20. But I love our fight. I mean, I expect that from us. I wish we would have found a way to win the second or third set and kind of get going and get some more confidence. But we'll learn from it. We'll learn that we can't play this level of volleyball in the Big 12."
