Jacque Struckhoff had a collegiate experience at Kansas State that was marked by athletic talent, consistency and academic achievement.
She was a four-time All-American as a distance runner for the Wildcats, twice earning honors in cross country (1984 and 1985), finishing seventh indoors at 3,000 meters in 1985 and fourth outdoors at 10,000 meters in 1987.
At the 1987 Big Eight Conference outdoor meet, Struckhoff swept the women’s distance events, winning at 3,000, 5,000?and 10,000 meter distances. She repeated as Big Eight outdoor champ at 10,000 meters the next season.
Her 10,000 meter school record of 33 minutes, 22 seconds set at the 1987 Penn Relays still stands and is 27 seconds faster than the woman in second on that list.
Struckhoff also excelled in the classroom as she was named a First-Team Verizon Academic All-American in 1986, 1987 and 1988.
