An 8-time letter-winner in indoor and outdoor track and field from 1983-86, Rita Graves is one of the most decorated female track and field athletes in K-State history. Graves is tied with three others at K-State for the most NCAA Outdoor All-American citations in a career with four and NCAA Indoor All-American citations with three. Competing in the high jump, Graves won the 1983 and 1986 Big 8 Outdoor Championships and the 1983 and 1985 Big 8 Indoor Championships. After finishing in the Top 10 six times at the NCAA Outdoor and Indoor Track and Field Championships during her career, including runner-up four times, Graves broke through for a National Championship in the high jump in her final NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship competition in 1986.Â
