Larry Reid and Nick Williams started at the guard positions, while Quentin Buchanan, Travis Reynolds and Pervis Pasco started at the forward slots... It was the first timeK-State had used this starting lineup, the seventh different opening lineup of the season.
With the 43-point victory over the Knights, K-State recorded their largest margin of victory since the 'Cats defeated Missouri 111-56 on Jan. 3, 1998... The 'Cats also held a 19-point lead at the half (41-22), the largest since the 'Cats held a 22-point halftime lead (38-16) over Missouri last season (Jan. 16, 2001).
K-State finished with a season-high 54 points in the paint. The 'Cats previous season-best was 42 interior points against Tennessee State on Nov. 27, 2001.
The 'Cats held the Knights to 45 points, their lowest scoring output since a 104-45 loss to No. 22 Maryland on Nov. 22, 1999. It was also the lowest scoring total by a K-State opponent since Coppin State posted 36 points on Dec. 21, 1998.
K-State had five players (Pervis Pasco, Nick Williams, Marcelo Da Barrosa, Phineas Atchison and Matt Siebrandt) in double-figure scoring for the third time this season.
Matt Siebrandt scored a season-high 14 points in the game. It was his second straight double-digit outing.
Quentin Buchanan pulled down a season-best eight rebounds, surpassing his previous high of four against Troy State (Nov. 16, 2001).
Reid finished with a career-high 11 assists in the contest. His previous career mark was nine set against UTSA last season (Nov. 16, 2000).
Marcelo Da Barrosa and Marcus Hayes scored their first career points in the contest.Da Barrosa finished with 10 points and tied a season-high with 3 rebounds, while Hayes picked up two points with a pair of free throws in the second half.
