Coach Bill Snyder on 2001 Kansas State Recruiting Class:
"As is always the case, the strength of this or any other recruiting class will not be determined until we have had these young men in our program for a couple of years. We do, however, appreciate the quality and character of this class, as well as their collective desire to succeed in the classroom and on the football field. The perception would be that this is a class of fine young athletes and quality people.
"This is a diverse class in the sense that we signed a player at every offensive and defensive position except tight end, as well as three specialists. We also signed players from nine different states.
"The student-athletes presently in our program were also pleased with the compatibility of each member of this recruiting class. It is their feeling that these incoming recruits will fit in very well.
"We are in the process of enhancing this incoming class with the addition of several quality walk-ons. Over the past 12 years, 56 walk-ons have earned scholarships and contributed a great deal to this program and to our university.
"I am also extremely proud of our coaching staff and support staff for their diligent efforts. We also are grateful to and proud of our faculty, our administration and our players who contribute so much in the recruiting process."
