MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State announced the signing of five student athletes for the 2003-04 season. Four signees come straight from the high-school ranks while on is a transfer. The list is divided with two men and three women set to become Wildcats.
"With this class we are meeting some of the immediate needs our program will have after this season," said Kansas State assistant coach Michael Smith.
Coach Smith remarked on how the new signees would fit into the program.
"By adding a heptathlete, an athletic vaulter, a developmental thrower, and multiple-event athletes, we feel like we will be recovering some points that we might otherwise lose to graduation. These student-athletes help us continue our trend of having a complete team."
