MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Gilson DeJesus scored 21 points on a career-highseven 3-pointers as Kansas State beat Arkansas Pine-Bluff 76-39 Wednesdaynight.
DeJesus was 7-of-12 from 3-point range. Marques Hayden scored 14 points forthe Wildcats (2-3) and Pervis Pasco grabbed 11 rebounds, including eightoffensive rebounds.
Kansas State led 38-23 at halftime, and began the second half with an 8-0run to take a 46-23 lead with 16:34 remaining. The Lions would not again getcloser than 20.
The Wildcats scored 10 consecutive points before a late Lions free throwprovided the final margin.
Kansas State outrebounded Arkansas-Pine Bluff 51-31 and held the Lions to aseason-low point total, as they shot just 27 percent from the field. LamarquisBlake and Billy Hall each scored eight points for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-5).
Kansas State opened the game with a 7-0 run as Arkansas Pine-Bluff missedits first seven shots. Kansas State extended the lead to 17-5 with 12:03 left.DeJesus helped the Wildcats to the early lead, making three of his first four3-point shots.
The Wildcats ended the first half with a 7-2 run, then continued the run toopen the second half.
It was the first home win of the season for Kansas State. The Lions havelost all of their games during a road trip that included games against tworanked teams.
