Women's Golf in 14th after one round in Baylor Shootout

Boerne, Texas - The Kansas State women's golf team shot 333 Thursday and stands in a tie for 14th place after 18 holes at the Baylor-Tapatio Springs Shootout at the par-72, 6,007-yard Tapatio Springs Resort in Boerne, Texas.
The No. 62-ranked Wildcats were led in the opening round by three Wildcats, Edie Murdoch, Miranda Smith and Elise Carpentier, who all shot a round of 83 to sit in 51st place.
Christine Boucher and Sarah Heffel were one stroke behind with a round of 84, and they are in 62nd place. Stephanie Limoges, who made the trip to compete as an individual for K-State, is in 89th place after a round of 89.
No. 33 Tulane University is leading the 20-team field with a round of 304. Texas Tech is in second and Baylor sits in third with rounds of 309 and 312, respectively. Middle Tennessee State's Tamara Munsch leads the field with an even-par performance of 72 Thursday.
The final 18 holes will be played Friday beginning at 7:30 a.m.
