PEORIA, Ariz. – Posting a school-record 54-hole score of 14-under par 202, Kansas State senior women's golfer Noa van Beek earned her first collegiate victory at the Westbrook Invitational following Monday's final round held at the par-72, 6,293-yard Westbrook Village Golf Club.
As a team, K-State finished in third place at 27-under par 837, which set the program's 54-hole score. The Wildcats reset the record of 840 posted earlier this season in the Schooner Fall Classic and in each of the previous two trips to the Westbrook Invitational. Kansas State tallied a final-round score of 13-under par 275 on Tuesday to tie for the fourth-lowest team round in school history.
"Today was the reaction we were looking for after yesterday's lackluster second round," head coach Stew Burke said. "I am really proud of how all the ladies held in there to the end after a relatively slow start. Our finish was excellent, especially Noa's final two birdies to win her first individual title. As a group, we know what we need to do better for our next event, and we are looking forward to a quick turnaround before California."
A native of Oene, Netherlands, van Beek broke away from a three-way tie for the top spot with birdies on each of her final two holes to finish the final round at 5-under par 67, enabling her to edge Kansas' Lyla Louderbaugh by one shot. van Beek's overall performance this week was two shots better than the previous school record of 204 set by Carla Bernat in the 2025 NCAA Lexington Regional, Sophie Bert in the 2025 Westbrook Invitational and Christine Boucher in the 2002 Edwin Watts Invitational.
Paired with Kelsey Chen's victory last time out at the Puerto Rico Classic and Nanami Nakashima's win at the Powercat Invitational to end the fall, K-State has claimed individual championships in three-straight events for the first time in program history. Additionally, it was the 28th individual title in school history, the 10th in Burke's three seasons at the helm and third this season.
Starting on No. 4, van Beek birdied three of her first five holes before running into trouble with a bogey on No. 9 and a double-bogey on No. 12. However, she was able to regroup by going bogey free and 5-under par over her final nine holes to claim the title. van Beek finished the event with 21 birdies to lead the 84-player field.
Nakashima, Chen and Julia Ballester Barrio joined van Beek in red figures on Tuesday. A sophomore from Kani, Japan, Nakashima carded a final-round total of 4-under par 68 en route to a tie for 11th place at 7-under par 209. She tallied four birdies in addition to an eagle on the par-4 15th on Tuesday to secure her seventh round in the 60s this season.
Chen produced a bogey-free final round score of 3-under par 69 with birdies on Nos. 5, 15 and 17, and Ballester Barrio posted a final-round total of 1-under par 71, which included an eagle on the par-5 14th. The duo tied for 28th place at 3-under par 213, as Ballester Barrio produced the lowest 54-hole score of her career, six shots better than the 219 she recorded as a freshman in the 2024 Big 12 Championship.
Freshman Keen Visavapattamawan tied for 54th place at 4-over par 220 after recording a second-consecutive round of 1-over par 73 on Tuesday.
No. 35 Missouri earned the team title at 37-under par 827, two shots ahead of 23rd-ranked Arizona.
K-State is back in action March 9 and 10 when the Wildcats take part in the Yale Invitational West held at PGA WEST in La Quinta, California.
