K-State with Work to Do in Final Round

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The Kansas State women's golf team recorded a second-round score of 12-over par 300 on Tuesday as the Wildcats fell one spot into 11th place in the Annika Intercollegiate Presented by 3M at the par-72, 6,432-yard Royal Golf Club.
The Wildcats, who erased six shots from their first-round total, hold a 36-hole score of 30-over par 606 entering Wednesday's final round. K-State is one shot behind Missouri for 10th place, while ninth-place Houston is just three shots ahead.
K-State was paced on Tuesday by sophomore Stalee Fields and freshman Amy Wang, both of whom recorded rounds of 1-over par 73 with a trio of birdies. Fields, who cut five shots off her first-round total, was able to rise six spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 44th place at 7-over par 151. Wang, a native of Guangzhou City, China, shaved five shots off the total from her first collegiate round on Monday as she improved four spots into a tie for 38th place at 6-over par 150.
Junior Nanami Nakashima is tied with Wang for 38th place after she carded a round of 4-over par 76. Senior Julia Ballester Barrio and junior Kelsey Chen are tied for 53rd place at 12-over par 156. Chen recorded a second-consecutive round of 6-over par 78 on Tuesday, while Ballester Barrio turned in a score of 7-over par 79.
Wake Forest extended its 18-hole lead as the Demon Decans are at 20-under par 556, 15 shots ahead of second-place Oregon. Two Wake Forest players – Chloe Kovelesky and Benedicte Brent-Petersen – are tied for the individual lead at 7-under par 137.
The final round of the Annika Intercollegiate Presented by 3M tees off at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and live results can be followed on SCOREBOARD powered by Clippd.
