KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Kendra Wecker had 22 points, and 13th-ranked KansasState took advantage of poor shooting in the first half by No. 12 Texas for a79-63 victory Wednesday in the second round of the Big 12 Conferencetournament.
The Wildcats, who also got 17 points from Laurie Koehn, 11 each from KristinRethman and Nicole Ohlde and 10 from Megan Mahoney, advanced to the semifinals.They will play fourth-ranked Oklahoma on Thursday.
Kansas State (24-6) was in front by as many as 21 points and held a 40-21halftime lead because Texas (20-9) made just eight of 33 shots in the first 20minutes. The Longhorns, led by Kala Bowers with 14 points and Tai Dillard with12, were just 1-of-8 from 3-point range in the first half.
Texas made a brief comeback in the second half, cutting the lead to 54-38midway through. But a 3-pointer by Mahoney and foul shots by Brie Madden andKoehn made it 61-38.
