Second Round at Big 12 Championship Suspended

Manhattan, Kan. - Saturday's second round of the Big 12 Women's Golf Championship at Colbert Hills Golf Course was suspended until Sunday after a three-hour and 40-minute delay due to heavy rain and lightning in the Manhattan area.
The second round will conclude Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m., with the third round to follow at 8:30 a.m. using the same tee-time format as Saturday. No teams and only three groups completed their second round, while four groups have yet to finish the opening nine holes.
Three of K-State's five golfers had completed the front nine when play was suspended 5 p.m. (CDT). Christine Boucher had completed nine holes and was 2-under-par on the day and is 2-over par for the tournament. Edie Murdoch had just made the turn and was 2-over-par for the day and is 8-over-par for the tournament.
Elise Carpentier was 3-over-par through 11 holes and is 13-over-par for the tournament. Sarah Heffel, who had also completed 11 holes Saturday, had recorded a 4-over-par to that point and is 15-over-par for the tournament. Miranda Smith was 5-over-par on hole No. 9 at the time of the delay and is 10-over-par for the tournament.
Christi Cano of Oklahoma State, who stood at 3-under-par through seven holes, took over the lead in the individual standings. Cano is ahead of first-round leader Emma Zackrisson of Oklahoma State by one stroke. Zackrisson, who fired an opening-round 3-under-par 69, completed six holes Saturday before the suspension.
Oklahoma State remained in first place after and is 7-over-par through 37 holes of the second round. Oklahoma also completed 37 holes of play and is in second at 16-over-par. Baylor (+21 through 37 holes), Texas (+28 through 50 holes) and Kansas State (+32 through 50 holes) round out the top five.
