MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State Head Football Coach Bill Snyder announced personnel and assignment changes among his assistant coaching staff on Friday afternoon.
The moves were prompted by the resignations of Ron Hudson and Paul Dunn, each of whom are expected to move to the University of Kentucky.
?We will certainly miss Ron and Paul and their families,? said Snyder. ?They have each made a tremendous contribution to our community, our university and our football program. Leaving Manhattan and the young men in our program who they have helped grow and mature over the past several years is difficult.
?This, however, provides each of them an opportunity to enhance their needs in the coaching profession. I am certainly grateful for all they have done to enhance our program and have wished each of them continued success.?
Snyder said he felt fortunate the Wildcat program would be able to retain continuity within the staff by making the following assignments and changes:
* Del Miller, who served as offensive coordinator on Snyder's original Wildcat staff in 1989, will move from defensive ends coach to serve as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
* Joe Bob Clements, a former Wildcat defensive end who has been a graduate assistant for the past two years, will move to full-time status and coach defensive ends.
* Bob Stanley, who worked with the Wildcat offensive line as a graduate assistant in 2000 and 2001, will return to Kansas State from a year at SMU to be the offensive line coach.
* Greg Peterson will continue to work with the Kansas State wide receivers, but will move from passing game coordinator to co-offensive coordinator with Miller.
?It is a great thing to be able to acquire staff members who are so familiar with our program, who have a working knowledge of our system and truly want to be in Manhattan,? Snyder said. ?The three have a combined 19 years of experience in the Kansas State football program. I greatly appreciate their character, their integrity and their passion for helping young people.?
