MANHATTAN, Kan. - Lawrence Roberts finished with game-high totals of 19 points and 12 rebounds, while R.T. Guinn hit three three-pointers en route to 13 points, to lead Baylor to a 66-57 victory over Kansas State in a Big 12 Conference men's basketball game played Wednesday at Bramlage Coliseum.

The victory lifted the Bears to 12-10 overall and 3-8 in the conference. Baylor has now won back-to-back road games, as the Bears won at Oklahoma State last Saturday.Kansas State fell to 12-12 overall and 3-8 in the Big 12.

Matt Siebrandt finished with 18 points before fouling out, while Frank Richards added 11 points for K-State. The Wildcats were hampered by 35 percent shooting from the floor in the first half and finished the game with a 2-for-11 mark from three-point range.

Baylor hit 10 of 28 from behind the arc and had 12 steals in an outstanding defensive effort.

There were six ties in the first half, which ended with Baylor leading 32-29. Roberts had 11 points in the first half, while Siebrandt had a dozen of his 18 to lead Kansas State.

K-State suffered five turnovers in the opening four minutes of the second half, as Baylor stretched its lead to 43-34. The Bears went ahead by as many as 14, at 54-40 with 9:34 to play, when the ?Cats made a run.

Richards had a dunk, Tim Ellis buried a three-pointer and Richards followed with another basket as the Wildcats pulled within 54-49 with 5:35 left. The lead stayed between five and eight points for the next four minutes, with the Wildcats coming their closest at 60-56 with 1:04 to play.

But John Lucas, Ellis Kidd and Matt Sayman all made a pair of free throws in the final minute, as Baylor was able to preserve the win.

Kenny Taylor finished with seven steals for Baylor, also chipping in nine points. Sayman also had nine points and six assists.

Marques Hayden had eight points and a team-high nine rebounds off the bench for Kansas State, which was out-rebounded 38-36. Tim Ellis had three blocks for K-State.

Kansas State hits the road for its next two games, playing Saturday at Iowa State and Tuesday at Nebraska. The Wildcats' next home game is March 1 against Missouri at 12:45 p.m.
