HEAD COACH TOMMY TATE
On the game overall"
'We lost to a good football team.
On their second-half defense"
'Defensively, I thought we played a little bit better in the second half than we did in the first half. In the first half, we just seemed to be a step behind, missing tackles. In the second half, we started to run around, making a few big hits. That's the kind of defense we like to play.
On the experience of the game"
'We played a lot of people. We wanted to play a lot of our youngsters, a lot of personnel. We'll learn from this and move on. We'll hope that it makes us a better football team and hope it helps us win some of the big games down the road that we need to win. This is a great place to play college football and it was a good experience for our program. Our players will be better because of it. We hope our coaching staff will be better because of it too.'
On the punt rush"
'They did a good job executing their punt rush. We broke down a few times. But again, we wanted to get a lot of personnel in there. It's a learning experience and we'll get better because of it.'
On
'I think they have an excellent football team and if they stay healthy, they have a chance to really make a run at the Big 12 title. I think that's their feeling. You can tell it in the way they play. They have a very good football team. I think they are very solid defensively. Offensively, they have a great scheme that gives teams a lot of problems.
