Seven Wildcats named to Academic All-Big 12 Squad

MANHATTAN, Kan. Senior tight end Brian Casey, a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection this season, headlined a list of seven Wildcats named to the 2004 Football Academic All-Big 12 team announced by conference officials Tuesday.
The honor was the fourth straight for Casey, who was also named to the league’s all-academic teams in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Joining Casey on the first team, which consists of student-athletes with 3.20 or better GPAs, were offensive tackle Jeromey Clary, quarterback Dylan Meier, linebacker Marcus Perry, cornerback David Rose and defensive end Blake Seiler.
Senior reserve defensive back Blaine Clark, a construction science major, was named to the second team, which consists of players with 3.00 to 3.19 GPAs.
The 2004 Football Academic All-Big 12 team is comprised of a total of 84 first-team members and 58 second-team selections.
