“We are fortunate to add someone with Dennis’ credentials to our staff,” said Wooldridge. “He will bring a wealth of expertise and experience in Division I basketball, which will certainly pay dividends to our program. He will not only be a great addition to our staff, but also to the university community. I am excited to have his talent and commitment in the coming season.”
In his position as director of basketball operations, Cutts will assist in coordinating recruiting activities for the program, running the Jim Wooldridge Basketball Camp, organizing K-State coaching clinics and overseeing the Wildcat Faculty/Staff Club. In addition, he will coordinate all team travel and oversee special projects for the basketball office.
Cutts, 37, comes to Kansas State after a three-year stint at San Jose State (2002-05), including spending the last two seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator under former coach Phil Johnson. He assisted in the development and recruitment of several all-conference players, including Marquin Chandler, a second team All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) forward. In addition to his on-the-floor coaching duties, Cutts was in charge of the team’s scheduling of opponents and facilities as well academic monitoring and assisted in game preparation.
“I am really excited about joining the K-State family,” said Cutts. “This is a great opportunity to work with someone that I really admire in Jim Wooldridge. I think the world of him and what he has done in his coaching career. I am really excited about the direction of the program and the players he has assembled for the coming season.”
