Schlachter Wins Carol Robinson Pentathlon

K-State junior Marianne Schlachter won her second career pentathlon with a career-high point total of 3,482. The product of
Other Wildcats in the top-five were freshman Stephanie Hejde in fourth with 3,053 points and senior Tasha Harvey with 2,991 points.
In a closely contested men’s pentathlon, former Wildcat James Ball defeated Paul Speer by just 21 points (3,766 to 3,745). Ball used a first place finish in the long jump and a second place finish in the 800-meter run to overtake Speer. This is the second straight Carol Robinson Winter Pentathlon win for Ball, who captured the 2005 event with 3,775 points.
