
MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State senior center Jessica McFarland was recently named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII Women’s Basketball Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Derby, Kan., native earned second team honors with an impressive 3.82 cumulative grade-point average in architectural engineering at K-State. A seven-time Big 12 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll student, McFarland has played in 90 career games with three starts to date for the Wildcats.
She is shooting 53.1 percent from the field (60-113) and recorded a career-high 15 points at Saint Peter’s on Dec. 30. McFarland has scored in double figures seven times during her career at K-State. Last season, she was named an Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection. McFarland will graduate this May with plans of attending graduate school in the fall.
CAMPUS SCHOLAR: Sophomore reserve forward Carolyn McCullough of Stillwell recently received the Phi Kappa Phi Sophomore Scholastic Award from the University’s College of Human Ecology. McCullough is a three-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll student holding a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA in communication sciences & disorders at K-State.
