Matt Murray Joins Baseball Staff

“We are extremely excited about the addition of Matt to our coaching staff,” Hill said. “He has been tremendously successful as a high school head coach and he really has a deep passion for the game. Our hitters and infielders, as well as the entire program, will benefit greatly from his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm.”
Murray spent the previous five seasons as head coach of Claremore High School in Claremore, Okla., and amassed 151 wins and a .760 winning percentage en route to three Class 5A state title appearances and two championships in 2003 and 2005. Murray’s experience in player development is evident at the collegiate and professional levels as 33 of his former players have gone on to play college ball and four, Keith Bucktrot, Gerritt Simpson, Greg Stone and Skip Weast, went on to play professionally.
