K-State, Louisiana Meet for Midweek Action Tuesday

MANHATTAN, Kan. – K-State will take on Louisiana for a pair of midweek games, starting Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park in Lafayette, La. Wednesday's game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch.
The Wildcats (6-1) are coming off back-to-back wins over Nebraska and Michigan at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series in Arlington, Texas, finishing 2-1 overall at the tournament.
Right-hander Tanner Duke will get the start Tuesday, while Wednesday's starter will be announced at a later date.
Tuesday's contest can be heard on KMAN online with Brian Smoller calling all the action, however, the game will not be streamed. Wednesday's game will broadcast on ESPN+ and carried on News Radio KMAN (93.3 FM, 1350 AM). After a wild pitch moved both into scoring position, the right-hander surrendered just one hit over 4 1/3 innings and allowed only one additional runner to reach scoring position the rest of the way ... He used just 51 pitches to retire 13 of 15 batters he faced, earning his first win at K-State ... Ligget allowed just one hit and one walk in the outing with three strikeouts. In two appearances this season, Liggett has thrown 9 1/3 consecutive shutout innings.

Outfielder Carlos Vasquez, a product of Lawrence, Kansas, turned in a standout week at the plate, producing a .500/.563/.667 slash line with seven hits and seven RBI, including a home run ... Vasquez was named FloSports Player of the Game after delivering a clutch, two-out hit in the sixth inning to tie the score 3-3 in the Wildcats' 5-3 triumph over Nebraska ...
