Lehning, who scored 11 points, also added 14 rebounds and 12 assists to register her third career triple double, setting the school and Big 12 record.
The Wildcats are now off to their sixth 4-0 start in the Deb Patterson era, while K-State snapped an 11-game home winning streak by Arkansas State (2-3) and handed the Red Wolves just their third home loss in the last 23 contests dating back to the 2006-07 season.
Lehning was well on her way to a triple-double at the break after pulling down nine rebounds and tallying six assists. Nelson led all scorers with nine first-half points to lead the Wildcats to a 31-22 halftime lead.
The Cats, who only trailed once in the early going, kept the game to a double-digit margin throughout most of the second half, including a 12-point lead with 3:20 left when Lehning hit a layup to register the record-setting triple-double.
Lehning’s effort of Tuesday evening also moved her into sixth place in career assists (614) in Big 12 history.
