Kent Leads Wildcats Past Gents, 73-51

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP)Darren Kent scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Kansas State defeated road-weary Cententary 73-51 on Saturday.
Fred Brown added 14 points for the Wildcats (8-3). Nick Stallings had a game-high 27 points to lead the Gents (2-10).
Kansas State scored 24 points off 20 Centenary turnovers. Late free throws by the Wildcats buried Centenary, which dropped to 0-9 in true road games.
The Gents haven’t played at home yet this season and won’t see their own floor until they host Oakland on Jan. 8.
The Wildcats closed out the first half on a 13-1 run, including 11 points by Kent, in the final 4:23, and took a 33-21 lead into intermission.
