K-State Hosts WBCA Pink Zone Event Feb. 15

The WBCA's "Pink Zone" initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA’s nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. This season, K-State Athletics and the K-State Super Store worked together to produce an official shirt for this event. The pink shirt features a purple Powercat on the front and can be purchased for only $10 at any home basketball game, the K-State Super Store or Cats Closet in
This initiative has grown from approximately 120 institutions participating in the inaugural 2007 campaign to over 650 and counting during the 2008 season. During last season’s event in Bramlage Coliseum, the Wildcats wore pink warm-up tops with the breast cancer ribbon, pink wristbands and pink shoelaces.
