
UP NEXT: The Kansas State men’s golf team travels to Goodyear, Ariz. to compete in the Desert Shootout, Thursday, March 19 thru Saturday, March 21. The event will tee off Thursday from the No. 1 and 10 tees and begins at 8:30 A.M. (CST). On Friday the 20 the tournament will again tee off from the No. 1 and 10 tees and begin at 8:30 A.M. (CST). The final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 A.M. (CST) on Saturday, March 21.
LOOK AT THE FIELD: The field contains 15 teams from across the country including Big 12 foes Iowa State, Kansas, and Nebraska. Also competing will be Air Force, Boise State, Cleveland State, Coastal Carolina, Denver, Kansas State, Missouri State, New Mexico(Individuals only), Northern Iowa, Southern Utah, Tulsa, Utah Valley
LAST TIME OUT: The Kansas State men’s golf team placed seventh out of 18 teams at the Braveheart Classic in Beaumont Calif., March 2-3. The Wildcats carded a 28-over par 892 at Oak Valley Golf Course.
2008 DESERT SHOOTOUT: Formerly known as the Ron Moore Invitational the Wildcats captured the team's first tournament championship in over four years with a 19-under par 845 placing them two strokes ahead of Ohio State.
EARLY SUCCESS: Kansas State junior men’s golfer Mitchell Gregson placed second at the Braveheart Classic on March 2-3. With the second place finish, Gregson now has four top-5 finishes this season along with seven top-20 finishes.
HOST PALM VALLEY GOLF CLUB: Denverwill host the 15 team field at the Palm Valley Golf Course. Located just outside of Phoenix in Goodyear, Ariz. The 18-hole layout covers 7,015 yards and is a par 71 course.
