Ramos Shines in Native Puerto Rico

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Beverly Ramos led a group of former and current Wildcats competing at the Central American Caribbean Games this week in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, as she competed in three events over the week and came away with two wins and a third-place finish.
Ramos opened the week finishing third in the women's 1,500 meters with her time of 4:22.02. She was joined by former teammate Lilliani Mendez in the race with Mendez finishing ninth.
On Tuesday, Armando Del Valle competed in the men's 800 meters claiming 15th as he prepares for his sophomore season at K-State this fall.
Ramos continued her impressive showing at the CAC Games on Thursday with a meet record to win the women's 5,000 meters in 16:09.82. She then went on to finish first in the 3,000 meter steeplechase on Friday night with a new personal best the was enough to qualify for a new K-State school record and Puerto Rican national record clocking in at 9:53.02.
