K-State Controls Second Half in Win over Samford

MANHATTAN, Kan. – An 18-0 run to begin the second half propelled Kansas State to its ninth straight home win on Tuesday night, as the Wildcats defeated Samford 60-41 in Bramlage.
The Basics

• Quick Hitter: Kansas State finished its regular season non-conference schedule with a 10-1 record. This is the best mark following non-conference play since the 2008-09 season when K-State was 13-0 entering Big 12 action.

First Half
• Both teams were sluggish from the field in the first 13 minutes. K-State shot 5-of-18 from the floor, while Samford was 3-of-10 with eight turnovers as the Wildcats led 13-11.
• K-State built a five-point lead at the half, 25-20. Martin was fouled with 1.7 seconds remaining on a drive and converted both free throws for the five-point lead.

• A late 10-4 run by the Wildcats increased the lead to 25 points, 59-34, following a Bri Craig fast break layup with 5:53 to play.
• After struggling from the field in the first half, K-State shot .458 (11-of-24) from the floor in the second. The Wildcats held the Bulldogs to .250 (6-of-24) shooting and forced 10 turnovers.
