Eklund, a product of Carbondale, Illinois, carded a 36-hole total of 7-over par 151 and is tied for 20th heading into Sunday's action. Ben Fernandez saw a four-shot improvement in the second round (78, 74) and sits in 28th place, just one stroke away from 20th place.

"It was tough today," head coach Grant Robbins said. "Our guys did not quite have it physically, but I thought they did a good job of hanging in there and really grinding until the end."
Roland Massimino climbed two spots on the leaderboard after the first round, carding a 10-over 154 and is tied for 39th place. Senior Trent Evans and Jeremy Gandon are tied for 51st after each recorded a 13-over 157.
Kyle Vance is competing as an individual, carding a 23-over par 167 and is tied for 71st.
"The conditions are supposed to be even tougher tomorrow, but it is a great opportunity for us to move up if we can just stay patient and keep grinding for every shot," Robbins added.
North Carolina sits atop the leaderboard with a four-stroke lead after recording a 6-under 582. Northwestern's Dylan Wu is the frontrunner on the individual leaderboard with a 5-under par 139.
