Massimino Tied for Ninth at Bill Ross Intercollegiate

Backed by a 1-under par 71 in the second round, Kansas State junior Roland Massimino resides in the top 10 following the first two rounds of the Bill Ross Intercollegiate Monday at Milburn Country Club.
Massimino, one of three Wildcats competing in the event solely as individuals, is tied for ninth place at 1-over par 145. The Lumberville, Pennsylvania, product tallied three birdies in the second round and five on the day overall.
"Roland played well this afternoon and put himself within striking distance with a good round tomorrow," assistant coach Rob Murray said. "JC (Campbell) played solid but just needs a few putts to drop."
A native of Dallas, Texas, Campbell is tied for 24th by carding a 3-over par 147, including a 1-over par 73 in the first round. Campbell is just two stokes away from the top 10.
Freshman Kyle Vance recorded seven birdies on the day en route to a 5-over par 149 score to sit in a tie for 39th.
Grand Canyon is in first place at 4-under par 572, two strokes ahead of tournament host UMKC. South Dakota's Matt Tolan is the frontrunner on the individual leaderboard at 6-under par 138.
The final round of the Bill Ross Intercollegiate begins at 8:30 a.m., on Tuesday. Live scoring can be found at www.golfstat.com with results posted to www.kstatesports.com following the conclusion of the tournament.
