
243 Wildcats Named to Fall Big 12 Honor Roll

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State student-athletes had a strong fall semester in the classroom, as a total of 243 K-State student-athletes were named to the Fall 2017 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in an announcement from the league office today. The conference recognizes all student-athletes at its member institutions during each semester with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
The 243 student-athletes to earn the honor marks the 20th straight semester K-State has placed 200 or more student-athletes on the honor roll.
Of the 243 K-State student-athletes earning the citation for their academic excellence, 50 registered a GPA of 4.0 in the fall semester. K-State ranks among the league's best in terms of academic success as it continues to set a national standard in terms of APR, as all programs are currently well above the required NCAA standard.
The football and rowing teams led all Wildcat athletic teams with 52 and 38 honorees, respectively, on the Fall 2017 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Other total student-athletes on the honor roll include: women's track and field (34), women's soccer (28), men's track and field (23), baseball (19), volleyball (17), men's basketball (8), men's golf (8), women's basketball (7), women's tennis (five), and women's golf (4). All 12 athletic program's at K-State placed 50 percent or more of its fall rosters on the honor roll.

K-State has had an outstanding start to the 2017-18 academic year. The Wildcats saw 31 student-athletes graduate in December of 2017. The fall sports were recognized with the following honors: 47 Academic All-Big 12 recipients and football's Adam Holtorf was named a Second Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
