K-State Women’s Basketball to Host Five Summer Camps

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women's basketball and head coach Jeff Mittie will host five camps this summer for a variety of age groups and experience levels. The camps will be offered during the months of June and July. Each of the camps will feature current and former Wildcat players among the camps' counselors and guidance from the K-State women's basketball coaching staff.
All five camps will take place at Bramlage Coliseum, the Ice Family Basketball Center and the K-State Rec Center. All campers will receive a camp gift depending on which camp they attend. Camps are open to any and all registrants that fall into each camps' specified age group.
The first camp of the summer is the All-Star Camp on June 5. This one-day camp is for the advanced player who is looking to play basketball at the next level. The K-State coaching staff will put campers through an intense designed practice plan to evaluate talent and provide feedback valuable to play at the next level. This camp is for girls entering ninth through 12th grades.
The price of the All-Star Camp is $85 per camper. The cost of the camp of $85 is required at registration.
The second camp of the summer will be the Team Camp on June 6-8. This camp is open to AAU, varsity, JV and freshman teams with a minimum of eight players required per team. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of five games against teams with similar skill levels. The Team Camp is managed by K-State camp coaches and officiated by certified officials.
The cost of the Team Camp is $155 but if registered by May 4, participants will receive $20 off their registration. A refundable $300 per team is required to hold their spot. Housing for two nights and four meals are included in the cost. Deadline for registration is June 3.
The third camp of the summer will be the Junior Wildcat Overnight Camp on June 14-16. This camp is for kids entering grades four through eight and is a great camp for elementary, middle school and freshmen girls who have a desire to grow as basketball players and learn more about the game. K-State staff will work with each camper to fine tune and develop individual skills through demonstration, instruction and personal interaction. There will be 3-on-3, free throw, ball handling and hot shot competitions.
The cost of the Overnight Camp is $295 for a resident and $225 for a commuter and if registered by May 4, participants will receive $20 off their registration. For both options, a non-refundable deposit of $50 is required at registration. Online registration closes on June 12 at 11:59 p.m.
The fourth camp will be a two-day Parent/Daughter Camp on June 16-17. The recommended grade level for this camp is kindergarten to eighth grade. The parents and daughters will spend two days learning the game from K-State basketball staff and players.
The camp will include drills designed to help your daughter improve her game and to help the parent improve coaching your daughter. The camp is designed to be a fun and instructional environment for both parent and daughter.
The cost of the two-day Parent/Daughter Camp is $250 and is $100 for any additional child camper. All participants will receive housing, meals and a K-State Basketball t-shirt. All of the daughters will receive a K-State basketball to work on their game at home after the camp.
The final camp of the summer will be the Day Camp on July 16-18. The times of the Day Camp are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., each day. This camp is for girls entering kindergarten to sixth grades and focuses on the basic fundamentals and techniques of basketball and teamwork. Camp includes skill instruction, position work, competitive drills, and games. The camp benefits include demonstration, instruction, and personal interaction with current and former K-State players and coaches.
The cost of the Day Camp is $110 for a commuter. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required at registration.

Kansas State concluded the 2017-18 season with an 18-16 overall record and a Round of 16 appearance in the 2018 Postseason WNIT. This was the fourth straight season the Wildcats reached the postseason under the direction of head coach Jeff Mittie.
K-State will return eight letter winners from the 2017-18 season for the 2018-19 season, led by All-Big 12 selections Kayla Goth, Peyton Williams and Rachel Ranke. The Wildcats will also welcome in its highest ranked recruiting class during Mittie's tenure with four freshmen: Christianna Carr, Ayoka Lee, Laura Macke and Savannah Simmons joining the roster for next season.
