Jun 11, 2018 | Women's Basketball
MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State women's basketball head coach Jeff Mittie announced the non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2018-19 season on Monday. The Wildcats' non-conference slate features seven home games, a trio of games in the Cancun Challenge in Cancun, Mexico and a neutral site match up with Arizona State in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
K-State's 2018-19 non-conference schedule includes nine games against teams that reached the postseason in 2017-18, including five teams that played in the NCAA Tournament (Syracuse, DePaul, Princeton, Little Rock and Arizona State).
"When you put these schedules together, it is a two-year process," said Mittie about the upcoming 2018-19 non-conference schedule. "We feel like we have a good, talented roster and this schedule reflects that. It looks like it has the potential to be the toughest non-conference schedule we have played since we got here. Certainly, the Cancun trip has three quality opponents. Then you add in Arizona State on a neutral floor. In addition, we will face a number of highly successful mid-major programs. This is our youngest team, but I think this roster has a good balance of experienced players and talented newcomers to handle this type of schedule."
