SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO, Mexico – Junior Niamh McSherry matched her team-best 1-over 73 from round two and finished among the top-30 individuals, but K-State dropped two spots in the standings to close the Battle at the Beach in 15th Sunday.

After improving by ten strokes between the first and second rounds, K-State slipped in the closing round with an 18-over 306 at San José Club Campestre to finish behind 14th place Indianapolis (+41) and ahead of UAB (+71) with a combined 310-300-306--916 (+52).

McSherry birdied six times including her final hole for the third straight round, but fell out of the top-25 into a tie for 28th, finishing 75-73-73--221 (+5). Reid Isaac improved by five strokes from her second round performance, shooting 3-over 75 in the final round and landed tied for 59th in the final standings 75-80-75--230 (+14).

Redshirt senior Chloe Weir carded four birdies while finishing the front nine of the third round at 4-under, but shot 12-over on the back nine to finish 8-over 80 and fell from tied for 40th to tied for 62nd with a 75-76-80--231 (+15) for the tournament.

Briony Bayles fell two strokes off her round two pace with a 5-over 78 in round three to finish 78th at 85-76-78--239 (+23). Freshman Haley Vargas followed with a 9-over 81 round three to finish 84th shooting 87-75-81--243 (+27).

No. 14 Ole Miss shot a tournament best 11-under 277 to break away from SEC foe (18)LSU and claim the team title 302-278-277--857 (-7). Julia Johnson from Ole Miss shot an outstanding 11-under 61, the best tournament round by 5 shots, finishing six shots ahead of LSU's Latanna Stone (209) to win the individual title 73-69-61--203 (-13).

The tournament ends the fall slate for K-State, which will resume play February 23, 2020 at the Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Arizona.
