K-State Student-Athletes Receive Degrees in Fall Commencement

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State University will hold its fall commencement exercises on Saturday and among those receiving degrees will be 21 Wildcat student-athletes.
Highlighting the 21 graduates on the weekend are: 11 from football, three from rowing, two from men's track and field and women's basketball and one each from soccer, women's track and field and volleyball.
K-State, a Tier 1 Carnegie Foundation Institution, has had an outstanding start to the 2019-20 academic year.
To date K-State student-athletes have been recognized with the following honors: 66 Academic All-Big 12 recipients which includes record numbers for football and soccer. Football's Adam Holtorf was named a finalist for the Campbell Trophy and collected the Big 12 Conference Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, while Denzel Goolsby was named to the Allstate/American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team.
In addition, football's Holtorf and Dalton Schoen and volleyball's Brynn Carlson and Peyton Williams were named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VII in their respective sports. Holtorf was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team.
K-State ranks among the league's best in terms of academic success as it continues to set a national standard in terms of APR, as all programs are currently well above the required NCAA standard.
