K-State Downed by (3/3) Oregon to End Road Trip

EUGENE, Oregon – Kansas State closed out a three-game road trip on Saturday afternoon against (3/3) Oregon at Matthew Knight Arena. The homestanding Ducks cruised to their sixth home win of the season, 89-51.
Oregon (10-1) took an early 12-4 lead but K-State (6-4) answered back with a 6-0 run to pull within two, 12-10, after a jumper from Angela Harris with 2:14 to play in the frame. Ayoka Lee would score six points in the opening quarter for the Wildcats.
Peyton Williams took over in the second quarter for K-State, scoring the first eight points for the Wildcats and send them into an 18-16 lead with 7:45 remaining. Williams would finish the first half with 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
The Ducks would use an 18-2 run to expand their lead to 34-20 with 2:31 left in the half. K-State would close within nine, 34-25, but Oregon would lead at the half, 38-27.
K-State cut the deficit to nine, 40-31, after Cymone Goodrich finished a spin move with a layup at 8:57 of the third quarter. Oregon then went on an 11-0 run to wrest control of the contest and build a 51-31 lead with 6:34 to play.
Oregon would outscore K-State in the fourth quarter, 20-10.
Williams would finish with 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists. With her 20 points on Saturday afternoon, Williams has moved into 20th in program history for career scoring with 1,255 points.
Joining Williams in double figures was redshirt freshman Ayoka Lee with her sixth double-double this season with 14 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks.
Oregon featured three players in double figures and were led by the 21st career triple-double of Sabrina Ionescu, who finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
K-State finished at 31.3 percent from the field (21-of-67), while Oregon was at 50.0 percent (33-of-66). The Wildcats were 1-of-12 from beyond the arc. For the first time this season, K-State was outrebounded, 44-36.
Following a break for the holidays, Kansas State returns to action in Bramlage Coliseum on Saturday, December 28, against UTRGV. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
