MESA, Ariz. – The Kansas State women's golf team carded a 17-over par 305 during Saturday's second round to remain in the middle of the pack in the Notre Dame Clover Cub held at the par-72, 6,184-yard Longbow Golf Club.

The Wildcats, who improved their score by a stroke during round two, is in seventh place at 35-over par 611. Kansas State is just five strokes out of the top five.

Niamh McSherry continues to lead K-State as she is tied for 15th place at 6-over par 150. The Lurgan, Northern Ireland, native is currently two strokes out of the top 10.

Sophomore Reid Isaac had the best round of the day for the Wildcats at 1-over par 73. She enters Sunday's final round tied for 21st at 7-over par 151.

"Reid had a solid round," head coach Kristi Knight said. "Scoring 1-over par in these firm conditions is good. The team was able to bounce back a little on the back nine. We have scored well in stretches. I know the team is frustrated with some of the shots left out there, but we are eight strokes out of the top four."

Senior Chloe Weir is at 10-over par 154 to be tied for 33rd. Sophomore Ella Adams is tied for 42nd place at 12-over par 156, while freshman Briony Bayles is tied for 85th at 30-over par 174. Sophomore Darby Deans, who is competing as an individual, is tied in 72nd place with a score of 20-over par 164.

USC maintained its position to finish the day in first. The top-ranked Trojans are at 9-over par 585 and lead second place Oklahoma by 13 strokes. Leonie Bettel of Kentucky held her position atop the individual with a score of 3-under par 141.

The Notre Dame Clover Cup will conclude Sunday with an 8 a.m. (MT), start to the final round. Live results can be followed at www.birdiefire.com
