
K-State Places Five on Academic All-Big 12 Team

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State men's golf team placed five Wildcats on the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Golf First Team, the conference office announced Wednesday. The five first-team members were the second most in the league.
Seniors JC Campbell, Jeremy Gandon, and Roland Massimino in addition to juniors Jacob Eklund and Ben Fernandez all earned picked up the honor. Gandon and Massimino were awarded for a third straight season, while Fernandez and Eklund both are repeat honorees. Campbell was honored for the first time in his career.
Four of the five players are the top Wildcats in terms of stroke average as each are lower than 72.30. Eklund leads the way with a 71.33 stroke average and is coming off a second-place finish at the Missouri Tiger Invitational.
All five members were named to the first team by having a GPA of 3.20 or higher calculated over their entire academic career or the two previous semesters. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
The Wildcats return to action at the Hawkeye Intercollegiate, April 20-21 in Iowa City, Iowa.
