MANHATTAN, Kan.– Looking to end the regular season with an encouraging performance, the Kansas State women's golf team will take part in the 2019 Big 12 Championship, Sunday through Tuesday, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The event will be contested at the par-72, 6,246-yard Golf Club of Oklahoma for the first time in league history.
The three-day tournament consists of tee times beginning at 8 a.m., on all three days. K-State's tee time on Sunday is set for 10 a.m., as the Wildcats will be paired with seventh-seeded Oklahoma State and No. 8 Kansas.
"There has been a lot of good the last month," head coach Kristi Knight said. "This team has been steadily improving, and they look to forward to playing the Golf Club of Oklahoma."
The Wildcats will be led into the conference championship by sophomore Reid Isaac, who leads all Wildcats with a 74.72 stroke average and four top-20 finishes. The Montgomery, Texas, native looks to continue her momentum from last event as she carded a career best 4-under par 212 to finish fifth at the Bruzzy Challenge at the beginning of the month.
Kansas State's lineup will feature Isaac, along with senior Chloe Weir, sophomores Niamh McSherry and Darby Deans, and freshman Briony Bayles. McSherry finished in the top 10 two tournaments ago at the MountainView Collegiate with a score of 3-under par 213. Weir finished that tournament tied for 28th at 2-over par 218.
