
Taishia Pryce in Action at NACAC U23 Championships

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State track and field junior Taishia Pryce will represent her native country of Jamaica at the 2019 North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) under-23 Championships held in Queretaro, Mexico on July 5-7.
Pryce, of Kingston, Jamaica, competes in the women's long jump final on Friday at 5:35 p.m. CT. Pryce was selected as one of nine Jamaican women to compete on the Jamaican U23 team, after recently placing second at the Jamaica National Championships in Kingston, Jamaica on June 22.
In just her first season as a Wildcat, Pryce made an immediate impact by winning the Big 12 title in the women's long jump by jumping 6.42m/21-00.75 to take the crown in Norman, Oklahoma. Earlier in the season, Pryce jumped a wind-aided 6.60m/21-08 (2.4) to win the women's long jump at the Texas Relays, which was the NCAA leading mark at the time.
Pryce wrapped up her junior year with a trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the women's 4x100 meter relay, where the K-State team placed 20th overall, running a 44.43.
Along with Pryce, K-State signees Kyle Gale and Kyle Alcine will also be in action at the NACAC U23 and U18 Championships, with Gale competing for Barbados in the U18 400 meters and Alcine competing for the Bahamas in the U23 high jump.
