
K-State Places 219 on Spring Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Kansas State student-athletes had a strong spring semester in the classroom, as a total of 219 K-State student-athletes were named to the Spring 2019 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in an announcement from the league office today. The conference recognizes all student-athletes at its member institutions during each semester with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
The 219 student-athletes to earn the honor marks the 23rd straight semester K-State has placed 200 or more student-athletes on the honor roll.
Of the 219 K-State student-athletes earning the citation for their academic excellence, 53 registered a GPA of 4.0 in the spring semester. K-State ranks among the league's best in terms of academic success as it continues to set a national standard in terms of APR, as all programs are currently well above the required NCAA standard.
The football and rowing teams led all Wildcat athletic teams with 48 and 41 honorees, respectively, on the Spring 2019 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Other total student-athletes on the honor roll include: women's track and field (25), men's track and field (22), baseball (19), women's soccer (18), volleyball (11), men's basketball (8), women's tennis (8), women's golf (7), women's basketball (6) and men's golf (6).

Kansas State also had a total of 234 K-State student-athletes named to the Fall 2018 Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Of the 234 K-State student-athletes earning the citation for their academic excellence, 43 registered a GPA of 4.0 in the fall semester.
K-State, a Tier 1 Carnegie Foundation Institution, has had another outstanding academic year in 2018-19. The Wildcats saw 85 student-athletes receive their diplomas during in 2018-19.
To date K-State student-athletes have been recognized with the following honors: 130 Academic All-Big 12 recipients which includes record numbers for football, soccer and volleyball. Football's Dalton Risner was named a finalist for the Campbell Trophy, the Wuerffel Trophy and the Senior CLASS Award while also earning the Allstate/American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team.
In addition, football's Adam Holtorf and Reuter and women's track and field student-athlete Morgan Coffman were named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team as selected by CoSIDA, while women's basketball's Peyton Williams was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District VII team by CoSIDA. Williams collected the Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's basketball.
K-State also had 10 student-athletes earn the ninth annual Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, which is the Big 12 Conference's highest academic honor.
